FREECOVER Showcases Scientific Excellence at ISMEC 2026

FREECOVER is proud to contribute to the 55th International Symposium on the Thermodynamics of Metal Complexes (ISMEC 2026), taking place from 15–18 June 2026 in Udine, Italy.

Hosted by the University of Udine, ISMEC 2026 brings together leading researchers working on metal speciation, coordination chemistry, separation technologies, environmental chemistry, and innovative approaches to metal recovery and recycling. The symposium provides an important international platform for discussing advances in metal complex thermodynamics and their applications in analytical, biological, environmental, and industrial fields.

Several FREECOVER partners are actively contributing to the scientific programme, presenting research aligned with the project’s mission of developing sustainable technologies for the recovery and recycling of Critical Raw Materials (CRMs), particularly Rare Earth Elements (REEs).

The participation of FREECOVER researchers highlights the project’s interdisciplinary approach, combining green chemistry, advanced separation technologies, hydrometallurgical processes, sustainable materials, and circular economy principles to address Europe’s growing demand for critical raw materials.

Through scientific presentations, discussions, and networking activities, FREECOVER partners are sharing knowledge, strengthening international collaboration, and promoting innovative solutions that support resource efficiency and sustainable value chains.

Participation in ISMEC 2026 further demonstrates FREECOVER’s commitment to scientific excellence, researcher mobility, and international cooperation under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Staff Exchanges programme.

The consortium looks forward to engaging with the wider scientific community and contributing to discussions that will shape the future of sustainable critical raw material recovery and circular economy innovation.
